Frequently Asked Questions – Interpreting Services

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS – INTERPRETING SERVICES

Simultaneous and Consecutive interpreting

In addition to consecutive interpreting, we also provide simultaneous interpreter services for seminars, workshops, conferences and so on, both on-site (at your venue) or online.

The simultaneous interpreting method requires an audio system, called the simultaneous interpreting system (SIS) as well as an interpreter booth. With this equipment, the interpreter’s voice will not disturb the voice of the speaker.

Without the SIS, the floor atmosphere will feel more like a ‘marketplace,’ because the speaker and the interpreter will be speaking at the same time in the same room. This may make the audience feel uncomfortable and distracted. Additionally, the interpreter will not be able to focus and concentrate at an optimal level, and the best results will not be achieved.

No. You can hire our simultaneous interpreter service as well as rent the SIS from us, or just use one or the other of the services independently. For further details regarding our SIS rental and supporting equipment services, please click here.
